The thesis deals with stereotypes of nations in Central Europe from the perspective of selected sample of the Czech population. The aim of this thesis is to map the stereotypical opinions that prevail in Czech society in seven Central European political nations. The thesis also points out the presence of geographical factors which are associated with the occurrence of stereotypes. The research part of this thesis is based on a questionnaire survey through which respondents were asked, among other things, about their attitudes or knowledge towards the monitored nations. The collected data were analysed in a comprehensive manner with an emphasis on curiosity and geographical context. In the part of synthesis, the data were divided according to the set generations and then compared with the aim of discovering what differences or similarities between the generations exist.
Development of the border settlements and their inhabitants of the Český les

The presented report surveys development of settlements and their native inhabitants in area of the Czech Forest Mountains in the West of the Czech Republic. This area was almost inaccessible during the communist era because it belonged to strictly monitored area on the border with the Federal Republic of Germany. Many villages, originally settled by Germans, became extinct. They became ruins in the course of time. The first part of the text is a case study of community called Lísková which is situated about 20 kilometers from Domažlice. The second part of the text describe a very similar village, which was not destroyed in 1956 unlike the village of Lísková. This village has survived up to this day. The aim of this dissertation is to find out what factors lead to the process of the extinction of the village and what were the reasons for other settlements having survived the ordered demolition in the borderland. Isaiah 49 as seen by rhetorical criticism: Between doubts and radical hope.

This diploma thesis "Isaiah 49 as seen by Rhetorical Criticism: Between Doubts and Radical Hope" adopts the method of rhetorical criticism and applies it on a chosen biblical text from the 49th chapter of Isaiah. Rhetorical criticism is an exegetical method which, provided that the form of the text firmly relates to its content, tries by an attentive studying of the linguistic structures of the text to better understand the intended meaning of the author. This studying is of a synchronic character and uses structural and literary tools. It also pays attention to elements of persuasion. In the first chapter of this thesis, rhetorical criticism is introduced as well as its emergence in the second half of the 20th century and its subsequent development is described. In the second chapter, the method of this thesis is specified. It is then used in the third chapter, which is the core of the thesis, to interpret the chosen biblical text. The utilization of the method of rhetorical criticism is then evaluated in the final fourth chapter.
Pride and the Nation.

The bachelor thesis is dedicated to political, legal and cultural relations on the lands of the present British Isles in the second half of the thirteenth century and at the beginning of the fourteenth century. A person that is considered crucial for this period and the pivotal "point" of this thesis is King Edward I of England. The first part of this work deals with his life before his accession to the throne. Annexation of Wales is analysed in the second part of thesis as well as the means used by Edward and subsequent administrative division of the country. The third part analyses the situation in the lands of Scotland. The author scrutinizes hereditary succession of the crown and interference of the English King in the Scottish nobility disputes. Moreover, it analyses the beginning and the times during the Scottish war for independence and deconstructs the positions of the leading figures involved. In the last part of the thesis, the author analyses the political and social situation on the British Isles after the death of Edward I of England and the succession of his son, Edward II.

The representation of the national minorities of Hungary in the historiography of the dualistic era (1867-1918) Imre Tarafás Abstract One of the most problematic questions of Hungarian politics during the dualistic era (1867-1918) was the policy towards national minorities. The population of five nationalities reached or even exceeded one million each. These minorities were not only large in population, but they were also touched by nationalist ideologies, as a result, they declared themselves nations which the Hungarian legislation was not willing to accept. In addition, most of these minorities had federative, or even separatist aims. The 19th century also saw the birth of history as a scientific discipline. Professional historians all over Europe had a crucial task: by construction a national history narrative, they had to legitimize the existence of their nation. This meant that the pas had to be presented as a process which inevitably led to the formation of the 19th century's nation sate. Additionally, history served as a basis for both the Magyars and the nationalities in their argumentation. The central question of the paper is how Magyar historians integrated the national minorities of the country into a national history narrative. Russian Wedding Traditions

Bachelor thesis gives an insight into this exciting area of Russian culture, and to such an important time of life, such as marriage. It deals with Russian wedding traditions, rituals and customs, both at present and in the past. It focuses on the period up to the wedding (meeting, courtship, engagement), pre-wedding preparations and the wedding day from morning to the wedding night. With my bachelor thesis we will also look at different wedding customs of different nations living on the territory of the Russian Federation, which are for western world often unusual, even shocking. Also, this work examines and compares the wedding traditions of several other Slavic nations, including the Czech nation. The work is complemented by image attachments, photos and maps.

December CVVM survey was also focused on relationship of Czech citizens to other nations and nationalities. They had to choose from 24 nationalities and evaluate their attitude to these nationalities by marks (1-7) according to their attitude to them.
